Affiliate disclosure

Plain-language, up top, no fine print: here is exactly how this site makes money.

Chair & Cableis funded by the Amazon Associates program. When you click one of our links and buy something, we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. You pay exactly what you would have paid anyway; Amazon shares a slice of its margin with us for sending you.

As an Amazon Associate

As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases. Our outbound product links are affiliate links, marked with #ad where they appear, and they carry a rel="sponsored" tag so search engines understand the relationship. Some links may pass through a /go/redirect on our own domain — that simply lets us keep the destination current if a product moves.

What the commission does not buy

  • It does not change our rankings. The commission rate is invisible to the editorial process. That is why you will sometimes find a cheaper product ranked above one that would pay us more.
  • It does not buy a placement. No brand can pay to appear on this site or be called “best.” See our editorial policy.
  • It does not change your price. Affiliate links never add a cent to what you pay.

About the prices you see

Prices and availability are pulled live from Amazon and stamped with the date we checked them. They change constantly, and if our data is more than 48 hours old we hide the number rather than show a stale one. The price shown at Amazon checkout is always the one that counts. More on this in our methodology.

Why we tell you all this

Because the U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires clear disclosure of affiliate relationships — and because it is simply the honest thing to do. You deserve to know how the recommendations you are reading are funded. Questions? The contact page reaches a real inbox.
